Families are an important part of our church.
We offer:
- Nursery during the worship service
- Children's Church during the sermon
- Sunday School classes for every age
- Wednesday evening Bible study for children and youth
Our volunteers care deeply about creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn about God in an age-appropriate way while parents enjoy the worship service.
We're a fairly traditional Southern church. We sing hymns with a piano and organ, but we also like to add in some contemporary songs (with guitar) as well. And, we appreciate special music and choirs. We have pews and enjoy socializing after the service. All in all, we probably look a lot like a church you'd expect.
But, we also like to think that it's the people singing those hymns and chatting on the steps that really makes Guthrie Grove unique. Usually, we find that people first show up on our door out of curiosity. But it's our people that make them come back.
So we hope you'll visit soon! We've got space in our pews for everyone.
We have three services each week where you can visit with as much or as little fanfare as you'd like: Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening.
Sunday morning is our largest weekly service. We meet in the sanctuary at 11am, but people usually start to find their ways into the pews just a few minutes before. If you're feeling extra ambitious, we also have Sunday morning Bible Study at 10am in the middle wing of the church. We offer nursery and Junior Church for the children during the main service.
Sunday and Wednesday evenings we have a study time for both adults and youth. We usually spend this time studying the Bible and taking a closer look at specific topics that would be helpful to living a life of faith.

What Should I Wear?
Whatever makes you comfortable.
On any given Sunday you'll see everything from jeans and polos to dresses and suits. We're far more interested in meeting you than what you're wearing.
Come as you are.
What Is Worship Like?
Our worship is centered on God, our Father, Jesus, his Son, and the hope of God's coming Kingdom.
You'll hear a blend of timeless hymns, newer worship songs, congregational singing, prayer, Scripture reading, and special music throughout the service. We aim for worship that is joyful, Christ-centered, and focused on glorifying God rather than entertaining people.
What Is the Preaching Like?
Each week our teaching is rooted in Scripture and designed to help you understand God's Word and apply it to everyday life.
Pastor Andy teaches verse by verse through the Bible as well as topical messages that encourage practical discipleship, faithful living, and hope in God's coming Kingdom.
Whether you're new to the Bible or have studied it for years, our desire is that every message helps you know Jesus more and follow Him more faithfully.
Guthrie Grove isn't a huge church, but it can be nice to know where you're going before you visit.
Sunday School happens in the classrooms found across the church. We have classes available for every age and provide classes that are accessible to everyone. However, the church office and central classroom wing are only accessible with stairs.
Our weekly worship takes place in the Sanctuary. It is accessible by ramp or steps at the front of the church, or through the covered drop-off behind the church. During services, we also provide a service for children across from the Social Hall.
